ข่าว บริษัท ล่าสุดเกี่ยวกับ China's First "Compressed Air + Lithium Battery" Hybrid Energy Storage Station Nears Completion in Gansu

Background
October 29, 2025 – China’s pioneering 100MW/400MWh hybrid energy storage station, combining compressed air and lithium battery technologies, is making significant progress in Dingxi, Gansu Province. The project, a key initiative under China’s rural revitalization and green energy transition strategy, is set to become a national model for large-scale renewable energy integration.

Project Milestones
Construction & Technology Breakthroughs
Phase I (50MW/200MWh) was completed in February 2024, with the lithium battery system successfully connected to the grid.
Phase II is now in advanced stages, featuring 100% domestically developed compressed air storage technology, including high-efficiency air turbines from Shanghai Turbine Works (delivered August 2024).

Innovative Hybrid Design
The system pairs 40MW lithium batteries (for rapid response) with 10MW compressed air storage (for long-duration discharge), optimizing grid stability.
Expected to provide 4-hour discharge capacity, balancing intermittent wind and solar power in Northwest China.

Strategic Impact
Grid Stability: Supports Gansu’s gigawatt-scale wind farms, reducing curtailment rates by 15%.

Economic & Environmental Benefits:
Cuts CO₂ emissions by 120,000 tons/year through efficient renewable energy utilization.
Creates 200+ local jobs, aligning with national rural development goals.

Future Steps
Full commissioning is slated for Q1 2026, with plans to replicate the model in Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia.

Closing Note: As China accelerates its "dual carbon" targets, this hybrid project exemplifies how multi-technology integration can address renewable energy’s intermittency challenges.
